What Does Managed IT Actually Cost in Tampa? A 2026 Pricing Guide
Ask five IT providers what managed services cost and you'll get five versions of "it depends." It does depend, but that's no excuse for hiding the ball. Here's what Tampa Bay businesses actually pay in 2026, what should be included at each price point, and the red flags hiding inside suspiciously cheap quotes. Yes, we'll tell you what we charge, too.
The three pricing models#
Per user#
One flat rate for each employee, covering all of their devices. This is the cleanest model for most businesses because your IT bill scales with headcount, which is how you already think about costs.
Per device#
A rate for each computer, server, and sometimes each firewall or switch. It can work out cheaper for businesses where many staff share workstations, like clinics and retail.
Flat monthly fee#
One negotiated number for the whole environment. Simple, but it only stays fair if it's re-baselined as you grow or shrink. Get the adjustment terms in writing.
Typical Tampa Bay ranges in 2026#
Model | Typical range | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
Per user | $95 - $175 per user / month | Office and professional services teams |
Per device | $35 - $75 per device / month | Clinics, retail, shared workstations |
Flat fee | $1,500 - $6,000+ / month | Stable environments, 15 - 75 seats |
What should be included at any price#
Unlimited helpdesk with a stated response time, in writing
Proactive monitoring and automated patching for every device
A baseline security stack: EDR, email filtering, MFA management
Managed, tested backups, not just installed backup software
Quarterly business reviews with a technology roadmap and budget forecast
Vendor management, so you never sit on hold with your ISP again
Red flags in a cheap quote#
"Unlimited" support with hourly caps buried in the fine print
Security sold as an add-on - in 2026, EDR and MFA are not optional extras
No offboarding terms - a good provider documents your environment and hands over credentials cleanly if you ever leave
Three-year lock-ins with auto-renewal - confidence doesn't need handcuffs
What we charge#
Most comTECH clients land between $115 and $150 per user per month, which includes everything in the list above plus Shield Essentials, our managed security baseline. Agreements are month to month after the first 90 days. If that's outside your budget, we'll say so in the first call and point you somewhere honest.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. After a 90-day onboarding period, every agreement is month to month. We'd rather earn your renewal every month than rely on a signature from two years ago.
Can we keep some IT in-house?
Yes. About a third of our clients run co-managed IT, where their internal person handles day-to-day requests and we provide the tooling, security stack, escalation bench, and after-hours coverage.
